It was great to see you at Diagon!

Has your mum been sort of dropping hints about a surprise of some kind waiting for us at school?

Mine certainly has, and she's been putting her head together with your mum, so I'm sure whatever it is involves both of them--and both of us!

Pav seems a little out of sorts about the whole thing, don't you think?

I mean, she's happy for both of us, I can tell, but I think she's afraid of being left out of things.

Which is ridiculous, but maybe we should do something to cheer her up after we get to school?

What? No! She hasn't said a word, it's all about Haruman and how soon he'll propose (and whether he'll decide he really would prefer an Indian girl). What sort of surprise?

And Pav... I dunno, she's been getting upset about the slightest things, lately. She's upset that Dad moved back in, she was upset when we got home from CCF and my aunt and uncle asked for a second performance of the parade routine. She got upset because Seamus invited me over and she decided to stay at the shop. She even got upset when Mum liked my design better.

I keep telling her she's got to apply herself more.

I wonder if the Prefects' bath is really as incredible as Laverty and Bobolis bragged?

She's just been saying cryptic things like "all your efforts should be rewarded" and shooing me out of the room whenever she talks to your mum.

Although some of that might be that she's trying to get your mum's advice on how to make Tibs behave.

Honestly, I think she'd be thrilled if he proposed to someone instead of seeing the girls he's squiring around now.

Pav can work hard, you know, when it suits her. She did some snitch window displays at the summer this summer. It's just, school things don't suit her usually.
