Professor Sandoval-Pennifold hasn't let anyone leave, except to go to the infirmary. And we still don't have our wands. I can't do my morning toilette without it, and I simply don't feel like myself.
I didn't get much sleep last night (I don't imagine anyone did); I've been trying to doze off in this armchair because there are two firsties asleep in my bed and they kick. No one in 1st or 2nd year wanted to be alone in their rooms last night, so some of them are here, some are in the Common Room being watched over by the Weasleys, and Ed Bones has got the rest of the younger boys. Knowing his ideas of fun and distraction there's probably broken furniture somewhere.
You know who would be nice to have around right now? Evelyn Longbottom. She had a cool head and was good with the younger years. Half the time I seem to make them cry more.
