Hello Everyone

After much recovery time, I am so pleased to be properly up and around!

Apparently, it is rumoured that I have been bitten by those horrid half-transformed werewolves that were prowling the castle during the rescue attack events of this weekend. I fear I may have in fact created said rumour myself, due to some rather confused remarks I made whilst under the influence of some quite heavy pain potions.

No, I have escaped that unfortunate fate! However, it was suffered by my brave rescuer, one Luna Lovegood. She held off the pack of hairy, howling men with great skill, but one nevertheless came close enough to attack!

Fortunately, yet another wizard came along to finish the job, and he carried both Love Luna and myself to safety. My memory of what came after is quite confused, though I distinctly recall Healer Patil informing me that the bones in my foot were far too crushed for simple repairs.

I suppose I shall simply have to set a new fashion in canes.

Luna, I owe you a Life Debt. And an apology. Perhaps several.

Likewise that handsome distinguished wizard--I've not seen him before (or since), and still do not know who he is. Perhaps someone can tell me so that I can thank him as well?

His name was Kingsley Shacklebolt.

He was an Auror before the Protectorate, along with my mum and dad, and they worked together for years and years trying to keep kids safe, and trying to do what they could to help people.

He also took Neville's place for a week or two over summer so we could visit our parents.

He was kind, and funny, and brave, and wonderful, and he died protecting me from Professor Desai, who was trying to kill me.

I'm glad you're feeling better, Lavender. And I'm so very glad he was there to help you and Luna too.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that he died. It sounds like you knew him well.

Well, I think you were wonderfully brave, working with Kitty to help those students like you did.

You were there when they needed it most, and they are alive because of you.

That's rather brilliant prefecting in my book.

I've found that when you're injured...when you're really injured, and there may be long-term repercussions, that it helps a lot if you think, well, at least you saved someone else.


I hadn't thought at all about the Life Debt. It's just--I couldn't let them get to you. I've been training for this sort of fighting for a long time, more even than what we did in Defence class.

It's a lot different in real life than in a classroom.

As for the apology: I suppose many people would say you do probably owe me one, so thank you. It's rather nice to receive it.
